Reviews about Shakas
- 2 / 5By Lyndsie AlvaradoThe plates are a joke for the price, lots of rice and only about 3 oz of meat. Slushys are good though ice is very thin makes it better.April 05, 2017
- 3 / 5By Andrew KrauseThe food was ok, I got the Spicy Stir Fried Udon with Teriyaki Beef. It was good, but my wife got the Curry which was subpar. When we first got the food they had brought us chicken katsu, when I let them know that we ordered curry they just put curry on it. I am not sure if that is how it was supposed to be, but is was ok, but far from great.October 17, 2016
- 5 / 5By Lauren ValleMy go to for great Hawaiian food. The Kailua pork is smokey and amazing, the lau lau here is unrivaled anywhere else on the mainland and the shave ice and other drinks are amazing. Also, they carry fossilman's ice cream! They're a great local business supporting another great local business. Can't get any better than that.October 15, 2016
- 4 / 5By Pete ShiehBeen coming here since the early 90s, I can't believe it's been nearly 25 years since I've been here. The odd thing is, the menu hasn't really changed much. Maybe with the additional location in Alhambra, that's the only added bonus. Well, I recently went back and know why.
This is now more of a to-go place for die hard game folks. By that, I mean people with families who plays basketball. As a family, they come here, share a 442nd plate, have that deep fried spam musubi and watch the college hoops on TV.
But before you can do all that, you have to wait in line, and then wait another 30 minutes for your food. Crazy isn't it? Their Mac salad is still one of my favorites. You can see some carrots shavings and light mayo. Their chicken salad is meh but the chicken and beef are quite good and of course, decent portions. But do expect to pay around $10 for a meal here.
Parking in this lot is horrendous because it's always full. If you're hungry, may I suggest call in your order and pick it up 30 minutes later. It'll save you lots of hassle.July 23, 2016
